A little too interesting. Afraid I got caught up in other matters after our battle I couldn't check up on you.

[Like a certain petulant Lord of Calamity needing to be sat down and told to rest and recover. When it comes to people Eizen sees as a found family, he'll do almost anything to ensure their safety even if how he does it is a bit rough.

A side of himself that she's likely already seen with how they fought together. Then again, they were both tough, they were both bruised, and they both made it so that's the important part at the end of the day, he felt.]

Hopefully, that's all over for now. While I don't mind a good fight, I do mind my abilities being locked up like that. If there's one thing I hate, it's actually feeling like a human.

[He's never been jealous of humans and how short their life spans are or how weak they can be without a Malak's help.]

I can understand that, there was a lot going on.

[And other things will always come first. Plus, that fight was... a lot to deal with, with all the chaos going on with everyone fighting or getting hit with that drug. Plus, she knew he would be okay - fighting side by side told her that he can certainly hold his own.

His words prompt her to chuckle softly once more, nodding in agreement - still remembering her aches and pains after the fight. It was fun and all, but not an experience that she wishes to repeat.]

Ugh, I know. I can respect how they can endure a lot, but they get hurt too easily and don't hit remotely hard enough. I think I'll try to stick to how I usually am, that suits me just fine.

Humans are resilient beings and I respect that as well. Some have resolve that you wouldn't see in any other species.

[He's not sure if Velvet counts in that, being a daemon, but she was once a human who decided she needed to see her revenge through. That said, out of habit, he takes a coin out of his pocket and flips it absolutely absentmindedly. When it lands in the palm of his hand, there's a grim motif facing up. He barely checks to confirm what it landed before closing his fist once again.]

In a way, I admire that.

They really do. They are really amazing sometimes... It's hard not to admire them, really.

[Her expression turns a tad fond, her mind drifting to one such human - someone so extraordinary, even if he didn't possess any amazing powers or some supernatural heritage. Really, she's lucky to have met them. And it's certainly a softer expression than what she usually shows, though it vanishes quickly when she notices the coin.

The gesture getting a curious look, able to catch a glimpse of that motif, before his fist closes around it. And Anastasia being, well, herself, she can't help but be curious.]

I've never seen a coin with a design like that before. And isn't the point of flipping a coin to check which side it lands on?

[He did it so absently though that it seems like it's a habit, more than anything else. Which only makes her more curious.]

[Even he notes that softer expression. Some of his kind claim to hate humans, but he's not dumb enough to stereotype an entire race. Aifread was one hell of a man who made one hell of a mark on his life. A damn shame what happened to him.

He notes her gaze on his fist, not a first for people unfamiliar with his coin and its gimmick.]

It's a coin from a far continent where I'm from, and it's a suitable vessel for my kind. Because of my curse, it's always fated to land on tails. Nothing will change that fact, ever.

[He holds the coin out to her if she chooses to inspect it. It's not like she could steal it considering he could warp back to it at almost any time thanks to being linked to that item.]

[Once he holds it out to her, she leans in to take a better look - crimson eyes taking in the details with a soft hum, before her eyes flick back up to Eizen. Vessel? His curse? If it's always fated to land on tails, is it a curse relating to fate or luck? Is it related to that... odd warped feeling she's picking up on?

All these questions drift through her mind, and she leans back as she cants her head slightly - arms folded over her chest, as she debates which question to ask first.]

Your curse? What kind of curse is it? [Lets start with that first.]

[Questions like those are ones he's used to being asked so he doesn't even spare a second thought to answer it.]

I bring ill luck and misfortune to others just by existing around them. [He turns the coin over in his hand revealing the image of a goddess. Just seeing that side of the coin is like being taunted by luck and fate. Soon after, he pockets it before crossing his arms.]

The same is applied to myself. Men who travel under my leader ship rarely live longer than three years. Regular journeys turn into dangerous trials, yet my crew thinks nothing of it, as if they enjoy being tested. Masochists, the lot of them, but they're good men.

[He chuckles thinking about them, and how much it does affect him when another one of his crew members is tragically killed. It's inevitable, but doesn't make it hurt less.]

Basically, if you think it can go wrong when I'm around, it will go wrong.

[Ah, so it's as she suspected. Yet, the knowledge of his curse doesn't seem to bother her - nor the extent of it, instead simply smiling softly as he speaks of his crew. Glad that he has people who would stand by him, even with the curse that lingers around him.]

They really do sound like good men. A bunch of loyal masochists.

[A quiet chuckle escapes her, before her expression becomes a tad more serious. It's... interesting, to meet someone with a similar affiliation to her. Granted, she has more control over her own curse, but it's not often she meets someone even slightly like her.]

Well, I'm the optimistic type, so don't worry about that. And you're in good company, all my powers revolve around bad luck and curses. I used to be able to bless things, a long time ago, but that's no longer the case.

[A pause, before she grins once more - cheeky and bright, uncaring of what ails them both.] Well, I guess it would technically be bad company.

You got that right. I think we're all masochists aboard that ship.

[He smiles at that description of his crew. It's not wrong, which is the part that amuses him the most.

And he wonders if she's one, too. Optimism is great, but his curse is no joke. Granted, he's almost tired of how he's tried to explain that over and over, but only to be blown off. That is until someone's seen his curse in action and find it's pretty legit.

Though hearing her talk about her powers and cursing things, well... he's got to admit he's pretty curious about her now. It's not the first he's met someone similar to him here, but it's still pretty rare.]

Same here. My domain used to be a blessed one, but it distorted. [But the way she makes it sound, it's different than his cursed domain.] You almost speak as if you can cast curses, unlike me who curses anything in my vicinity whether I want to or not.

[He laughs again. He really seems amused by her the more and more this goes on.]

[Considering how he speaks of it, she doubts it's any joke. But Anastasia is the stubborn sort - you have to be, when you want to kill a god. So even if he's cursed to cause misfortune, it does little to deter her - and even when she does inevitably suffer bad luck by being around him, she still won't care.

And considering she's decided she likes him, she has no intentions of bailing - misfortune or not. Plus it's interesting to hear about their similarities, someone who had also been blessed before becoming cursed. Not everyday she meets someone like that.]

Yeah, I have some control over it, though I can't really decide what's gonna happen. Just that it'll suck for whoever I inflict it on.

[So she tends to abuse it in fights. Though then her mind drifts to her other form, which isn't as... controlled.]

Unless I'm in my more angelic form, and then I just have a constant bad aura, like a miasma, coming from me. It's useful in a fight, but it means I have to go solo so others don't get caught in it.

[Not that she seems too fussed, shrugging her shoulders with another grin. At least it provides an interesting twist during some fights.]

I can empathize the fighting solo part. Usually I just end up making fights tougher for one reason or another.

[Whether it's causing hoards of enemies to show up, people to become corrupt almost randomly with demonic power, weird weather changes, the ground swallowing them up -- something is almost bound to go wrong in a way that's almost predictable and yet unpredictable to Eizen. He swears his curse has its own personality.

But yeah, a constant bad aura. That... he totally understands that. Almost a little too well as he gives her a knowing smirk.]

Sounds like we're peas in a pod then. I'm used to the bad luck, so we can fight together if going solo is getting boring for you.

[Eizen gets lonely just like anyone else, news at eleven.]

At least being the heavy hitter means I can charge in ahead.

[It doesn't help that she attracts angels at times with her aura in her other form, and those are a hassle to deal with. Apparently it makes it easier to sniff out the "traitor" but it's when she's most powerful. Such a pain.

Good thing one of her friends has an anti-divine weapon. But the offer to fight together gets her to perk up, grinning brightly once more.]

I'll take you up on that, fights are more fun with someone else. [Then her grin takes a turn for something for mischievous - sorry Eizen, she can't resist teasing.]

I wouldn't mind your company for other things too. [Judging by the shit-eating grin, the less innocent suggestion is more of a joke.]
